Cinnamon cherry overnight oats

I love cherries!! We have huge tree in our vinyard, and I also planted one four years ago in the garden of my B&B in Villány (Hungary), called Naturella Panzió. This year, I was able to pick 8-10 pieces of cherries from that tree already. I was soooo proud!! :)


I like eating them simply the way they are, but I also like to add them to basically any meal I can. This overnight oat recipe is definitely worth to try. It is a simple, delicious and filling breakfast.


Ingredients

For the oats:

55 g oats

1 small, ripe banana

3/4 cup pitted cherries (120 g)

2 pitted dates

40 ml water

40 ml plant-based milk

1 tsp ground flaxseeds

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

For the topping:

4-5 raw cashews (or any kind of nuts)

5-6 pitted cherries


Method

  1. Place the oats in a bowl or jar.

  2. Blend the banana, pitted cherries, dates, water, and plant-based milk until smooth, then pour it over the oats.

  3. Add the ground flaxseeds and cinnamon, and stir it well.

  4. Let it sit at least for half an hour, or refrigerate overnight.

  5. Top it with a few pieces of nuts and fresh cherries.
